So, welcome to Paradise City. A picturesque place with a pathetic name, but thanks to our efforts, the city can (and should!) turn it into a real Hell City. For the first time in the Burnout series, we are waiting for an open game world and huge spaces without any subplots between areas. In addition, contrary to established traditions, the entire city and its surroundings are initially available for driving and exploring – it seems like a small thing, but it's nice! And the geography of Paradise City is very extensive – from the mountains in the west to the seashore in the east. There is even an airport located on the island.
Naturally, it's not worth looking for a real prototype of this city.
Criterion Studio just decided to make a hodgepodge of several megacities. For example, when creating the Paradise City center, the developers were inspired by the giant skyscrapers and the clear geometry of the wide streets of New York. Shanghai's port and waterfront served as a prototype for the Paradise City seaside district. Among the American attractions, there will also be Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam), a unique hydraulic engineering structure - a 221 m high concrete dam and a hydroelectric power station. By the way, in order to obtain the most reliable game objects, the developers visited the above-mentioned places and shot video and photographic materials there.
The city will be truly huge – to get from end to end in a straight line, you will have to drive at the highest speed (without accidents, of course) for about 6 minutes. Let me remind you that in Burnout: Revenge, acceleration was allowed up to 200 mph (over 320 km/ h), and, apparently, in Burnout 5 this figure will increase even more. And what's especially inspiring is that no police will stop us from bragging, since they simply won't be in the game. The developers quite rightly believe that racing with law enforcement officers will be an unnecessary element for the gameplay of Burnout and can become the proverbial fly in the ointment.
Well, the gameplay promises to be very diverse, and most importantly, we will have complete freedom of action. We decide for ourselves what to do, where to go, and what tasks to complete. Moreover, the game will constantly have a rating system that takes into account all the actions of the virtual driver: traditionally, for the Burnout cycle, the more often we exceed the speed limit, create dangerous situations and cause chaos on the roads, the better for the overall statistics. By the way, in this episode, all kinds of menus are practically abolished – interaction with the game world will be carried out directly from the city. Além da localização, sua estrutura se baseia em três pilares que definem sua oferta e a diferenciam de seus concorrentes diretos. Entre os principais está a oferta dupla integrada, que reúne num só lugar uma secção de apostas esportivas
